Subtitle preprocessing
Automatically remove extra line breaks and bracketed notes, or merge same-time subtitles for a cleaner display.
Some subtitles are messy—random line breaks, bracketed notes everywhere, or several chunks at once. Preprocessing tidies them before they’re shown.
Three toggles
In the Settings tab, enable any of these:
- Remove line breaks: Join a sentence that was split across multiple lines.
- Remove bracketed content: Strip notes like
(music)or[laughter]. - Merge same-time subtitles: Combine multiple lines at the same timestamp so they don’t jump around.
When it’s useful
- Line breaks make subtitles choppy and hard to read.
- Too many sound-effect notes get in the way.
- Several lines appear at once and it’s overwhelming.
