Keyboard shortcuts
Replay, previous line, adjust delay, toggle translation—no pausing to reach for the mouse.
Heard a line you didn’t catch and want to replay it or jump back? Shortcuts are fastest—your hands never leave the keyboard.
Default keys
All of these use Alt (for example, Alt + A):
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Alt + A | Previous line |
| Alt + S | Replay this line |
| Alt + D | Next line |
| Alt + Q / E | Subtitle delay: earlier / later |
| Alt + Z / X | Show / hide primary / secondary subtitles |
| Alt + C / V | Swap primary / secondary source and translation |
| Alt + L | Toggle subtitle reader |
| Alt + H / W | Dictation: hint / play from this word |
| Alt + F / G / M | Speaking: record / replay / monitor mic |
“Play from this word” needs word-level timing. It works with YouTube auto-captions, subtitle enhancement, and Whisper subtitles.
Want your own keys
Customize them in the extension’s Shortcuts tab. Use combinations you’ll remember and can hit comfortably.
Tips
- Subtitles out of sync with audio? Nudge with Alt + Q / E—you’ll be synced in no time.
- Testing yourself? Hide translation with Alt + Z first, then reveal when you’re stuck.
