Core Engine Update
Starting from v5.9, "YouTube Bilingual Subtitles" will switch to using RikoSub as its underlying core engine. This means that future feature behavior on YouTube will be consistent with RikoSub.
This update will begin with "YouTube Bilingual Subtitles," which has a relatively smaller user base. Subsequently, "Netflix Bilingual Subtitles" will also adopt the same approach, switching to RikoSub as its underlying core engine.
If you need support for platforms other than YouTube, you are welcome to use RikoSub directly.
Feature Locations and Keyboard Shortcuts
Most features can be found in the extension's popup interface. If you cannot find a specific feature, please refer to the documentation: https://netflixsubs.app/docs/youtube/intro
The most significant change in this update is the keyboard shortcuts. To avoid conflicts with other operations, most keyboard shortcuts now require the Alt key. The complete keyboard shortcut list can be found on the "Keyboard Shortcuts" page within the extension's popup window, or in the following documentation:
https://netflixsubs.app/docs/docs/shortcut
If keyboard shortcuts conflict with other software, you can also disable them under "Keyboard Shortcuts" in the settings.
Discontinued Support
Additionally, starting from v5.9, the following features and platforms will no longer be supported:
Safari / Firefox: This extension is still independently developed and maintained by me alone. Due to limited manpower and the additional maintenance costs associated with cross-browser compatibility, I will focus on supporting Chrome and Edge going forward.
YBS Subtitle Repair (AI): Due to the high maintenance cost of this feature, it will no longer be provided starting from this version.
Reason for the Update
Thank you all for your continued understanding, support, and willingness to take the time to report issues.
In the past, I had to simultaneously maintain multiple independent codebases. This not only increased the overall maintenance burden but also made adding new features, testing, and subsequent updates more difficult. Many improvements I originally wanted to make also took much longer to move forward as a result.
After unifying everything with RikoSub as the foundation, I can devote more energy to what truly matters: adding new features faster, fixing issues, and improving overall stability.
If this update affects your existing usage in any way, I sincerely apologize and thank you for your understanding and support.
